James Bond: Spectre ‘villain cars from the movie’

November 7, 2015   |   Cars & Motorsports   |   by Homan

It was a fairly early start, as usual with all XCAR shoots (but I  don’t mind it really). This was not just any car selection, I had the chance to see, hear and admire the villain cars from the movie Spectre. I was lucky enough to be asked to join the XCAR team to help with the shoot. It was a very tight schedule to say the least.  We had  an hour to shoot 3 cars, details and incar coverage with Alex behind the wheel of the 3 Beasts.

3 cars supplied by Jaguar and Land Rover Vehicles

1.Range Rover Sport SVR

It has a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine which produces 550PS and it can go from 0-60mph in 4.5 seconds, with a top speed of 162 mph. Not only that, the Range Rover Sport SVR created by Jaguar Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations team is available to buy!

2.Land Rover Defenders

With 185PS power upgrade to the 2.2l TDCi engine, Recaro sports seats. Also features huge 37-inch diameter off-road tyres (which looked awesome). Bespoke suspension and enhanced body protection. Also, that awesome looking rope on the front bonnet.

3.Jaguar C-X75

Two of the C-X75s used in Spectre are from the original project in 2010 but were repainted. The two had equipped electric hybrid engines. A further five were created, specially for the stunts and powered by Jaguar’s supercharged V8 engine.  I got to sit in one of the two prototypes and I have to admit it was one thing I wouldn’t have thought I’d be able to say I would be doing or have done. Some of the specs of the C-X75: it has Four 145kW traction motors (780bhp total), top speed is said to be over 200mph, but the speedometer doesn’t go that far.
